On Jan 8, the Ordos Red Cross Society urgently mobilized to deliver relief supplies to Dingri county in Shigatse city, Xizang autonomous region, which was struck by a 10-kilometer deep 6.8-magnitude earthquake at 9:05 am on Jan 7, causing severe damage.

Recognizing the dire need for warm clothing and heating equipment due to the harsh climate, the Ordos Red Cross Society quickly organized aid. They donated 700 items, including cotton quilts, coats, and family kits, valued at 103,700 yuan ($14,311.34), plus 1,000 cashmere products.

To ensure swift delivery, the Ordos Postal Company has provided a free transport vehicle and assigned three drivers to work around the clock, aiming to deliver the supplies to the disaster area in Shigatse within 48 hours.

Two local businesses donated 110,000 yuan through the Ordos Red Cross Society, with funds directed to the Inner Mongolia Red Cross for distribution to earthquake-hit areas.

The Ordos Red Cross Society remains committed to monitoring the situation and responding to the needs of affected residents. It continues to call on the broader community to contribute donations and supplies, delivering warmth and support to Xizang's earthquake-stricken areas.
