The 2025 Ordos government work report emphasizes the need to focus on advancing modern industrialization, promoting innovation-driven industrial development, and achieving high-quality growth. This initiative has sparked widespread enthusiasm among local deputies and members attending this year's Ordos two sessions.
In 2024, Ordos achieved 7 percent growth in its secondary industry, with the added value of manufacturing enterprises above a designated size increasing 16.4 percent.
The city also made significant strides in greening and digitizing traditional industries, modernizing coal chemical projects, and expanding its renewable energy capacity to 21.24 million kilowatts.
Promoting modern industrialization is a complex and systemic effort. This year's government work report outlines key strategies, including accelerating the development of "four world-class industries", upgrading traditional industries, nurturing emerging sectors and new business models, building high-standard industrial parks, and advancing producer services.
Wang Xiwu, an Ordos deputy and deputy general manager of the National Energy Group Ordos Coal-to-Liquids Company, said: "We will vigorously promote the construction of major coal-to-liquids strategic projects, contributing to Ordos' modernization and the development of a coal chemical industry demonstration zone".
