Ordos airport sets new record in annual passenger throughput

Ordos Ejin Horoo International Airport saw its total passenger numbers exceed 3.03 million on Dec 9, a new record for the airport.
The airport currently hosts 24 airlines operating 84 routes to 71 cities. This includes nine international and regional routes connecting eight overseas destinations. Cargo and mail throughput has reached 13,000 metric tons, while flights totaled 30,000, with all major indicators showing steady year-on-year growth.
The airport continues to serve as a key gateway for northbound opening-up, coordinating both international and domestic route development. Internationally, it has advanced the integration of aviation and tourism, launching services to Mongolia, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia, carrying 71,000 international passengers to date.
Domestically, flight frequencies to major hubs such as Guangzhou, Chengdu, Xi'an, and Hefei have been increased, while several stopover routes have been upgraded to direct flights.
The airport has built a transfer network centered on Ordos, with transfer passenger numbers surpassing 180,000. By planning routes based on local industries and market demand, the airport has also launched customized services, improving network connectivity and efficiency to better support the city's economic and social development.
