A 1-gigawatt wind and solar power project developed by Ordos State-owned Assets Investment Holding Group's New Energy Company was connected to the grid on Dec 23.

The project is located in the Kubuqi Desert of Hanggin Banner, Ordos city.

It integrates wind and solar power, ecological restoration, and technological innovation, marking the launch of the city's super green power station.

The project is expected to generate 1.89 billion kilowatt-hours annually, saving about 620,000 metric tons of standard coal and cutting carbon emissions by roughly 1.88 million tons. It will also restore 120,000 mu (8,000 hectares) of desert land through combined engineering and biological measures, while supporting employment and rural vitalization.

Advanced N-type modules and diversified energy storage solutions, such as vanadium flow batteries, are deployed, with full in-house control from planning to construction.
