On December 29, 2020, Bazhong Enyang Airport annual passenger throughput reached 300,000.

The construction of Bazhong Enyang Airport started in February 2016 and it was officially put into operation on February 3, 2019.

The airport has achieved rapid development in the past two years.

In 2019, each of the airport's one-way flights carried an average of 136 passengers, second among the province's civil airport flights in flight occupancy and also second to the record of 153 passengers per flight of Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. On December 29, 2020, the airport's annual passenger throughput exceeded 300,000 people.

The airport also operates an air freight business. Currently, it has signed cooperation agreements with JD, SF Express Lao Liao Jia and Bashan Husbandry.

"For the past two years, the navigation networks of Bazhong Enyang Airport were increased from one destination to five regions. The air routes were increased from one to 14 and the inbound and outbound flights were raised from two to 98 per week," said Luo Mingzhu, head of the office of Bazhong Enyang Airport.

Luo added that annual passenger throughput increased from 196,000 in 2019 to 302,000 in 2020. By February 2, 2021, the airport's total passenger throughput had reached 517,000, making it one of the fastest-growing regional airports in southwest China.

"To improve service quality, the airport employed international etiquette trainers for etiquette training. The air terminal is decorated with green plants and equipped with massage armchairs and business facilities", said Wu Xia, a responsible person of the airport.

She added that the airport is also promoting the utilization of paperless flight procedures.

The airport helps create an "air corridor" for the Qinba revolutionary area as it enters the new era, making the "flying dream" of Bashan people a reality and boosting the city's economic and social development.
