Enyang District is located in the northeast of Sichuan Province. To its east is Bazhou District, to its south is Yilong County, to its west are Cangxi County and Langzhong City and to its north is Nanjiang County.

In January 2013, Enyang District of Bazhong City was established with the approval of the State Council. Covering an area of 1,177 square kilometers, it has jurisdiction over three subdistrict offices (Dengke, Wenzhi and Sicheng), 15 towns, 209 administrative villages and 100 neighborhood committees.
