On December 28th, the Bashan beef cattle industry integration and development project was signed in Bazhong, Sichuan province.

The project is of great significance for strengthening the Bashan beef cattle industrial chain, promoting income growth for the people, and promoting rural revitalization.

It is reported that the Bashan beef cattle industry integration and development project in Pingchang county, Bazhong, will be carried out in two phases.

The main construction includes a demonstration breeding base for 10,000 head of Bashan beef cattle, an integrated beef cattle slaughter and cutting production line, a beef processing plant, and a high-quality forage planting base.

Once the project is put into operation, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of 2.5 billion yuan ($348.89 million) and create more than 1,000 jobs.

In recent years, Bazhong has identified Bashan beef cattle, Nanjiang yellow sheep, and tea as major advantageous varieties for breeding and farming. Among them, the beef cattle industry has been determined as the priority industry, and the "Bazhong Bashan Beef Cattle Industry Development Plan (2023-2027)" was recently introduced. The plan aims to take the leading position in the Sichuan beef cattle industry within five years. By 2027, the beef cattle farming volume will reach 600,000 heads, and the comprehensive output value will exceed 12 billion yuan.

At the same time, all 5 counties in Bazhong have been listed as one of 41 beef cattle industry base counties in the province, making it the only city in the province where all its counties are beef cattle base counties.
