A delegation visited Rencheng district in Jining, East China's Shandong province, on Dec 10 to learn about progress on the district's three new and old kinetic energy conversion projects.

The Rencheng Digital Economy Industrial Park, which has received 2 billion yuan ($306.26 million) in investment, is the first provincial-level park of its kind in Jining. The park, which aims to build an ecosphere for innovation and entrepreneurship focusing on the internet, makers, venture capital, and industries, is designed to accommodate 3,000 small and medium-sized start-ups. The park is the first in the city to feature 5G base stations to provide 5G coverage to the entire region.

The park currently employs over 12,000 workers and a single building in the park pays over 50 million yuan in taxes. It is expected to generate 20 billion yuan in trade, with four buildings paying over 100 million yuan in taxes. It will also generate 30,000 jobs when all of its buildings begin operating.

The Shandong Sheng'anbei New Material Research and Development Demonstration Industrial Park has received 1 billion yuan in investment and consists of several 35,000-square-meter high-standard factory buildings. It is expected to generate 2 billion yuan in annual output, earning over 500 million yuan in profit and 500,000 yuan per mu (0.067 hectares) in taxes.

Two projects have already been introduced to the park, one of which is an OLED photoelectric new material research and development project receiving 350 million yuan in investment. It designs and produces 300 tons of middle and high-end organic materials per year, which are used to make flexible and self-luminous electronic displays.

The Jiangbei Modern Grain Logistics Industrial Park, which is planned for construction in Rencheng district, is the largest grain logistics project north of the Yangtze River. It is a key project supported by both the national and Shandong governments. It has received a total of 1 billion yuan in investment and will build large warehouses with a capacity of 107,500 tons, low columnar warehouses for transfer with a capacity of 60,000 tons, an e-futures trading center, a grain and oil quality inspection center, an R&D center, and subsidiary logistic facilities. Its business is expected to be all-intelligent and cover the entire industrial chain, including both logistics and grain and oil, so as to improve the development of the modern grain logistics industry.

After its establishment, the park will make use of multimodal transportation, including ports, highways, and railways, to develop into a multi-functional regional modern grain logistics, processing, and e-futures center revolving around Jining. It will be responsible for transportation, warehousing, futures trading, processing and detection, logistics, and information services. It is expected to transport 1.2 million tons of grain and trade 600,000 tons of goods worth over 5 billion yuan.
