On Sept 29, 2019, a new branch of Jining Museum opened in Taibai Lake New Area, offering residents a more modern museum with better infrastructure.

It was designed by Mario Bota, a world-famous architect. The frame structure building is composed of geometric superposition and has a total construction area of 27,237.73 square meters, with four floors above ground level, and a building height of 29.3 meters.

After years of archaeological excavation, social solicitation and donations, Jining Museum amassed a collection of 160,000 sets of cultural relics.

The museum's exhibition area contains five large-scale fixed exhibition halls and two temporary exhibition halls specially designed for the exchange of cultural relics at home and abroad.

Among the museum's five standard exhibitions is the historical civilization exhibition focusing on Ancestor Culture, Zou Lu culture, Confucian culture and Shuihu culture.

The stone carving art exhibition features such items as Jingjun stele, Zhenggu stele, Wurong stele and Lujun stele, which are of great significance to the study of Han Dynasty (206 BC- 220) history and calligraphy art.

There are also exhibitions of canal culture with a focus on the Beijing -Hangzhou Grand Canal running through Jining, cultural heritages reflecting the representative remains of traditional culture existing on the ancient land of Jining, as well as a number of digital Jining exhibitions.

The two temporary exhibitions - the Memorial Ceremony of Confucius and the Rongbaozhai calligraphy and painting exhibition, will display national treasure level calligraphy and painting works during National Day.

In addition to the basic exhibition area, the new museum has also designed six other basic service areas, including a cultural relics warehouse area, education exchange area, technology research area, administrative office area, visitor service area, and equipment room.
