Jining National High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Jining, East China's Shandong province has streamlined its evaluation procedures to help local projects start construction and operation as soon as possible, which is part of the zone's continued efforts to improve its business environment.

To date, the zone has invested over 12 million yuan ($1.87 million) in evaluating 25,500 hectares of land and has made great achievements. A number of companies, such as Shenzhen Huahong Smart Co, have settled in the zone's smart terminals industrial park.

A total of 10 government bodies of the zone, including the administrative committee, administrative examination and approval services bureau, bureau of natural resources and planning, as well as bureau of investment promotion, have worked together to improve the efficiency of evaluation processes and to reduce costs for companies.

The local administration now evaluates an industrial park as a whole, instead of as separate projects, while the evaluation of more than a dozen subjects, such as land prices, effects on transportation and environment, as well as energy consumption, is conducted before rather than after companies have settled.

All evaluation costs are also covered by the zone's administrative committee.
