The second e-commerce festival of Sishui county in Jining, East China's Shandong province will begin on Dec 17 and feature a three-day live streaming event to promote the county's e-commerce industry, officials said at a news conference for the festival on Dec 10.

Eleven characteristic live streaming venues will be set up for intangible cultural heritage items, culture and tourism, Sishui sweet potato industrial chain, industrial e-commerce products, cross-border e-commerce, local specialty products, snacks, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region's specialty products, logistics, and relevant supporting industries, with more than 100 companies taking part.

A series of other activities involving the signing of project deals, live streaming skill training, seminars and short promotional video displays will be held. A sub-venue will also be set up in Yuhang district in Hangzhou to expand the influence of this year's festival.

Sishui county, as a demonstration county for the national "e-commerce entering rural areas" project, is home to more than 400 e-commerce companies which employ more than 3,900 people, generating 1.05 billion yuan ($165.11 million) in online sales from January to November this year, up 12.7 percent year-on-year.

The local authorities have offered preferential policies and financial support, built an e-commerce public service center and a storage and logistics center, and organized online and offline training sessions in order to turn e-commerce into a new force behind rural revitalization.
