The Jining government is offering up to 300,000 yuan ($47,070) of housing subsidies per person to lure high-caliber workers, according to officials at a news conference held on Dec 14.

Those who hold doctoral degrees from other universities and are qualified for the aforementioned conditions are eligible for a 200,000 yuan housing subsidy per person, officials said.

In addition, a 5,000 yuan salary subsidy per person per month will be given to their employers for three years.

The housing subsidies for those with a master's degree (under 35 years old) and a bachelor's degree (under 30 years old) are 60,000 yuan and 30,000 yuan, respectively, while the monthly salary subsidies are 2,000 yuan and 1,000 yuan, respectively.

Jining has revised its talent policies twice since 2018, aiming to encourage local companies to bring in more high-caliber workers and help them reduce costs, according to Zhao Yi, director of the city's talent work office.

Zhao said that the city has seen an increasing number of young talents being employed in Jining. By the end of November, the city has brought in 45,500 young talents, which is an increase of 26.4 percent year-on-year.
