Jining's import-export volume reaches record high in H1

Jining in East China's Shandong province achieved a year-on-year increase of 39.8 percent in total imports and exports during the first half of this year, amounting to 39.48 billion yuan ($5.85 billion), according to the city's customs authority.

Out of that, exports rose 59.3 percent to 29.93 billion yuan and imports rose 1.1 percent to 9.55 billion yuan.

The imports and exports of general trade totaled 35.27 billion yuan, up 39.6 percent and accounted for 89.3 percent of the city's total import and export volume. That of processing trade increased 41.3 percent to 3.67 billion yuan.

The private sector maintained the dominant position in the city's foreign trade sector at 78.2 percent. The total amount reached 30.86 billion yuan, up 46.5 percent. 

The imports and exports of foreign-funded enterprises and State-owned enterprises increased 16.8 percent and 31.8 percent, respectively, to 6.54 billion yuan and 2.09 billion yuan.

During the January-to-June period, ASEAN countries, the European Union and the United States were Jining's  top three trade partners, with the import-export volume reaching 9.69 billion yuan, 4.75 billion yuan and 4.33 billion yuan, respectively, up 66.5 percent, 9.6 percent and 43.2 percent.
