Fruit farming brings prosperity to town in Jining

Yishan town in Zoucheng, Jining has been thriving as a tourist destination in recent years thanks to its efforts to promote the cultivation of various fruits and flowers among local villagers.

Tens of thousands of visitors come to Yishan every year to admire the beautiful flowers, pick fresh fruit and participate in recreational activities.

This initiative has not only boosted tourism but also improved the income and wealth of the villagers through large-scale planting and family farms.

In collaboration with the Shandong Institute of Pomology, Yishan town has established a new variety breeding base to enhance the quality of forest fruits.

Their peaches have been selected for the national special and excellent new agricultural products catalog, while their cherries won the special award and first prize at the 9th International Cherry Symposium. Yishan salvia miltiorrhiza tea also received the gold award at the 18th China Forest Products Trade Fair.

To further capitalize on their tourism resources, Yishan town is actively promoting the integration and development of agriculture, culture and tourism.

Various cultural activities have been organized throughout the year in Yishan, including the folk performance, peach blossom festival, picking festival, and beer festival. These events have attracted over 50,000 visitors to date. Visitors not only have the opportunity to experience rural homestays and the joy of fruit picking, but also to purchase Yishan's local specialties as souvenirs.
