First Belt and Road Book Fair bags big deals in Shandong

The First Belt and Road Book Fair came to an end recently in Jinan, Shandong province, attracting nearly 100 publishers from 35 countries and overseas regions, including 58 from those involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

More than 240 copyright contracts were signed at the fair, about 220 of which were for exporting Chinese books, 20 were for introducing foreign books and 12 were for exporting digital products.

A translation-themed forum was held during the fair, attracting more than 120 industry pundits and overseas students from China, Vietnam, the United States, the United Arab Emirates and many other countries.

Under the guidance of China's State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television and the Shandong Provincial Department of Publicity, the fair was organized by the Shandong Publication Group with the aim of boosting cultural exchange and cooperation between China and the Belt and Road countries, as well as promoting internationalization of China's press and publishing sector.
