More than 60 students from Taiwan visited Mount Tai during a study tour on July 9 in Tai'an, Shandong province and experienced the coming-of-age ceremony on the majestic mountain.

The students at different ages are from different Taiwan middle schools and universities including the Tainan Municipal Dacheng Junior High School and the Overseas Chinese University.

"This is my first time visiting Shandong and climbing the world famous Mount Tai. My teacher told me that the mountain is a sacred and honorable destination, and I feel very meaningful to attend the coming-of-age ceremony here, which is a precious experience," said a middle school student surnamed Wu, "The people in this city are very friendly and I like it very much."

According to the organizer from a Taiwan-based cultural tourism association, study tours to the Chinese mainland are quite popular among Taiwan students in recent years, while Shandong, as one of the cradles of the Chinese civilization and the birthplace of Confucius and Confucianism, is one of the most important stops during the study tours.

The Mount Tai Scenic Area has made itself into a world-class cultural tourism destination by fully utilizing local cultural legacies and building a batch of culture tourism products such as coming-of-age ceremony.
