The new "international slow city" of Swan Lake is celebrating the 3rd Shandong Cultural Consumption Season with a series of photography, sports, fashion, book reading, and traditional cultural activities.

The Zibo city, recognized by the International Association of Cittaslow in June, boasts a laidback lifestyle, low traffic congestion, beautiful scenery, and various cultural activities – all of which can be accessed with a season ticket costing just 50 yuan ($7.09).

Due to the provincial consumption season, the city has attracted about 600,000 visits so far in 2019, up 30 percent over the same period last year, according to the culture and tourism bureau of Gaoqing county.

The city was named an "international slow city" by Cittaslow, an international movement founded in Italy in 1999 that aims to preserve leisurely and environmentally friendly lifestyles in small towns around the world.
