Shandong promotes culture, tourism in Seoul

A promotional Shandong culture and tourism event was held on Dec 3 in Seoul, South Korea.

The event was organized by the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and marked the end of the Shandong Culture Year in South Korea.

During the event, performers from Shandong province staged songs, dances, traditional operas, and acrobatic performances for South Korean audiences.

Shandong's unique intangible cultural heritage items, including paper-cuts, egg carvings, porcelain sculptures and grain paintings, were also put on display.

Wang Lei, director of the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, briefed Shandong's profound culture, long history, and many well-known tourist destinations. She also invited more South Korean tourists to Shandong to explore the province, which is the birth place of Confucius.

In addition, the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism signed a cooperation agreement with the Seoul Arts Center, while the Shandong Artists Association signed a cooperation agreement with the Korean Art Society.

Before the activity, Liu Jiayi, Party chief of Shandong province, met with representatives from local art and culture circles and discussed expanding the two-way cultural tourism market and deepening cooperation in cultural tourism.

He also presented "Confucius tourism ambassadors of Shandong" certificates to South Korean individuals.
