Jining in East China's Shandong province is showing a series of movies about the history of the Communist Party of China (CPC) every night at the city's Cultural Square, as this year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.

The activity, which started on June 15, is promoted by the publicity department of the Jining Municipal Committee of the CPC, as well as the city's bureau of culture and tourism.

More than 100 movies about the history of the CPC, including Autumn Harvest Uprising, which is about the insurrection in 1927, and Marco Polo Bridge Incident about the conflict between Chinese and Japanese troops taking place on July 7, 1937, will be screened at 19:30 every day.

The activity is expected to teach Jining residents more about the achievements of the CPC over the past century.
