The theme for World Earth Day 2022 is "Invest in Our Planet," which fell on April 22. East China's Shandong province has made significant efforts in recent years to safeguard its environment, particularly its lakes and wetlands, in order to achieve harmony between humans and nature.

Due to the general abundance of natural resources such as water networks, rivers, ponds, moors, swamps, and mudflats, wetlands are referred to as the "kidney of the Earth". Shandong has a considerable number of wetland resources thanks to its eastern coastline, gorgeous lakes in the province's southern region, and the magnificent Yellow River flowing through the province's northern region.
