A roundtable seminar co-organized by Shanghai's Lujiazui Financial City and the UK's City of London convened in Shanghai on March 24 to strengthen China-UK cooperation in green finance, Fintech, and financial markets.

Attended by Chinese and British officials, company leaders, and heads of related organizations, the event was also expected to build a matchmaking platform between government departments, enterprises, and organizations.

"This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the City of London's representative offices in Beijing and Shanghai, and we issue an outlook on the future decade on this occasion, which means China and the UK will maintain a friendly and mutually-beneficial relation in the next ten years," said Alderman Charles Bowman, Lord Mayor of City of London.

The Lord Mayor also mentioned that the City of London is looking forward to the formal launch of Shanghai-London Stock Connect, which will forge a closer relationship between the two financial centers.

Wang Hua, director of the Lujiazui Financial City Management Bureau, said that Lujiazui will stick to opening up and innovation, align itself with international standards, take more effective measures and optimize its business environment to make itself a top-rated financial city.

During the seminar, the Lujiazui green finance commission, the Lujiazui Association of Internet Finance, and PricewaterhouseCoopers signed a cooperation deal to build a global green projects database, and to promote the innovative development of Fintech, green finance and other related industries.
