To boost the development of the integrated circuit industry, the Shanghai Integrated Circuit Design Industrial Park 3-10 project was initiated and broke ground recently.

Based in Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, an important part of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the project occupies an area of 39,000 square meters, a total construction area of 244,000 sq m and is expected to be completed in 2026.

The inspiration behind the design of the buildings stems from integrated circuits. By arranging various types of monomers at multiple levels, each functional space of the buildings is independent and interconnected, which forms an open and interactive gathering place for scientific innovation.

The project also aims to build a sustainable business environment. The industrial park is designed to offer a park-like environment with such things as pedestrian greenways, a multi-dimensional greening system, and a photovoltaic electricity generation system.

The classic three-stage tower design of the buildings adopts the drop-type arrangement to create a novel and strong sense of order while relieving the compelling feel brought by high-rise buildings.

Furthermore, corridors are planned to be built between the buildings for office workers to talk with each other or have a break from work, and facilities including dining halls, small theaters and gyms are also in the plans to bring workers more options for leisure activities.
