In recent years, the Expo Area of Pudong, Shanghai has experienced exceptional growth, emerging as a central activity hub and magnet for investment and prosperity. Its integrated city-industry model, combined with a unique ecological location along the Huangpu River, provides an enhanced quality of life, encapsulating the motto: "Better City, Better Life."

The area's economic success has been aided by the "central and local integration" strategy, with the Expo Park B Zone hosting the largest concentration of central enterprises in Shanghai. To date, 28 central enterprise groups have registered 106 affiliated companies in the area, with 18 being Fortune Global 500 companies.

Attracting leading global companies and international organizations, the area welcomed pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) to establish a branch last year, while 15 international economic organizations have set up operations, with even more anticipated by the end of 2023.

With a focus on the cultural industry, the area attracts an impressive 10 million visitors annually and serves as a hub for exhibitions, performances, and festivals. Future plans encompass 13 world-class cultural and sports venues, with a 60,000-seat capacity in total, as well as prestigious hotels by industry giants like Waldorf and Kimpton.

Shanghai's first sports fund and a 5-billion-yuan ($ 724.4 million) investment center have been established in the area to support project development. These financial resources will bolster innovation capabilities and revitalize the area.

The area's growth prospects look bright, with economic, cultural, and ecological sectors reinforcing each other and attracting investment. As a model for global urban development, the area will continue to spearhead the prosperity and expansion of both Shanghai and the world.
