Shanghai FTZART of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone Group Co has been granted permission by the CIIE Bureau to participate in the cultural relics and art exhibitions at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) for the third year in a row.

The sixth CIIE will introduce a fashion, trends, and jewelry zone, in which top international enterprises and brands will present high-end products, such as apparel, footwear, bags, and jewelry, alongside artworks.

Over 30 exhibitors from various countries have enjoyed the benefits of Shanghai FTZART's facilitation of access to the free trade zone's bonded area during the last two CIIE events, which allowed for easier art trade.

In 2021, the CIIE displayed the awe-inspiring sculpture Share by contemporary artist KAWS. Weighing 3.9 metric tonnes and measuring over 5 meters tall, the piece instantly became a popular attraction.

With the aid of Sotheby's, Shanghai FTZART facilitated a seamless transportation process for the massive sculpture, including bonded storage and logistics services in coordination with the free trade zone's customs department.

Since CIIE's addition of cultural relics and art pieces in 2021, the event has showcased and sold a total of 78 pieces, amounting to 1.25 billion yuan ($180 million) in transactions. Chen Bin, deputy general manager of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone Group Co, confirmed that the company will remain dedicated to supporting the CIIE's cultural relics and art section by promoting policies and attracting visitors through multiple channels.
