In recent years, North China's Shanxi province has been continuously accelerating its investment attraction and deepening cooperation with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and other regions, aiming to establish a new inland hub for opening-up.

According to statistics, since 2020, Shanxi has attracted 600 investment projects from South China's Guangdong province, with a total contracted amount of approximately 566.83 billion yuan ($78.28 billion). These projects cover a wide range of fields including high-end equipment manufacturing, new materials, new energy, new-generation information technology, modern services, and modern agriculture.

Furthermore, entrepreneurs from Guangdong have shown a strong preference for Shanxi, as Shanxi has spared no effort in providing them with excellent business services. According to statistics, there are currently around 10,000 Shanxi business people in Guangdong and approximately 80,000 Guangdong business people in Shanxi.

"Shanxi is rich in energy resources and is a great contributor to the whole country. In recent years, we have found that Shanxi's business environment is improving," said Yang Mengyong, manager of Northern Shanxi region at Beijing Haonenghui New Energy Technology Co.

In the future, Shanxi will further integrate with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, strengthening collaboration in fields such as industrial innovation, energy, culture and tourism, health and wellness, as well as employment. This will help to promote the comprehensive strategic cooperation between Shanxi and Guangdong.

"The cooperation between Shanxi and Guangdong has a promising future. Shanxi will strengthen coordinated development with the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and enhance practical cooperation with the Yangtze River Delta region, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and key foreign countries, so as to make positive contributions to the province's comprehensive transformation and development," said Yang Chunquan, director of Shanxi Investment Promotion Bureau.
