The "Shanxi Cultural Tourism (Hawaii) Symposium", hosted by the Culture and Tourism Department of Shanxi Province, was held on Feb 28 in Hawaii, the United States.

Wang Aiqin, director of the Culture and Tourism Department of Shanxi Province, highlighted Shanxi's rich historical and cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes. She noted that Hawaii is a world-renowned vacation destination and hoped the symposium would foster closer cooperation between the two regions in tourism industries.

Dennis Suo, managing director of Hawaii Tourism China, warmly welcomed the Shanxi delegation and expressed optimism about the prospects for collaboration.

Several cultural and tourism enterprises signed cooperation agreements: Datong Culture, Tourism & Investment Group Co will partner with the Hawaii Fujian United Association to develop cultural tourism projects; and Shanxi Baohua Shengshi International Travel Service Co and Hawaii China Tours signed a mutual tourist exchange agreement.

The event featured an exhibition of Shanxi's intangible cultural heritage products which captivated the attendees. Shanxi's noodle-making demonstrations and paper-cutting activities also attracted enthusiastic participation from American guests.

During the tourism project promotion session, an officer gave an impressive presentation on Shanxi's ice and snow-themed tourism resources, earning a round of applause from the audience.

The symposium deepened exchanges between Shanxi and Hawaii, and injected new vitality into developing the cultural tourism industries of both regions.
