Zhangmeng Yinghui, a former beneficiary of the Spring Bud project from Yingtan city, East China's Jiangxi province, is now an interior designer with a digital technologies co., Ltd.

Zhangmeng comes from Yuehu district of Yingtan city, East China's Jiangxi province.

Zhangmeng said that her mother's health got worse when she just took part in the national college entrance examination, or gaokao. Also, her father lost his job.

The economic situation of her family became even more dire. She felt overwhelmed by the major changes in her family and didn't know how to get enough money for tuition fees.

"It was a huge burden for my family to pay for the expensive university tuition. Nevertheless, I didn't want to drop out of school and my parents also supported me to go ahead with academic studies," Zhangmeng recalled. She said the timely assistance of the Spring Bud project solved her school tuition, further eased the economic pressure on her family, and encouraged her to study harder and meet the expectations of those who helped her financially.

Zhangmeng suddenly realized that she had grown up when she took a train alone to her university that year. At that moment, she told herself that she must stick to her dreams  to create a better life for her parents, and strive to be a useful member of  society.

Zhangmeng deeply cherished the valuable study opportunities and worked hard in school to reach the top place in all her subjects. She earned several national scholarships and funds during her university life.

Zhangmeng was greatly thankful to the Spring Bud project and those hard-won scholarships as well as funds, which were not only an acknowledgement of her hard work but also a stimulus for her to be a  confident woman.

Meanwhile, Zhangmeng was approved to join the Communist Party of China (CPC) when she rendered an application in the four-year university study. Since then, it has become her conviction to help disadvantaged people.

She often visited mountainous schools and took part in volunteer activities for local children in the weekends and holidays when she was a college student.

Moreover, she also joined a volunteer team on campus to help medical personnel perform nucleic acid testing during the COVID-19 epidemic.

Convey the love and hope of charitable affairs

Zhangmeng has remained enthusiastic about charitable causes even after her college graduation.

During her participation in charity work, she has built a paired-up assistance relationship with a disadvantaged boy from a rural family.

The boy's father is a physically handicapped person and his mother has suffered from chronic and mental diseases for a long time.

Under Zhangmeng's support and encouragement, the impoverished boy has become optimistic and confident. He has become sociable has shown great talent in drawing.

The positive changes in the boy made Zhangmeng realize the importance of both material and spiritual assistance to those in need.

"It is of equal importance for us to provide disadvantaged children with spiritual, emotional and psychological caring besides material aid and we are obliged to help underprivileged kids fully feel the love and warmth of the Party, the government and the society," said Zhangmeng during her interview.

Zhangmeng said that she will always remember the Spring Bud project, and vowed to help disadvantaged children, and convey love and warmth to people in a move to repay those who have helped her in the past.
