The opera is loved by audiences both at home and abroad for its melodic tunes, dramatic storylines and poetic stage effects over the years. Recently, it was also broadcasted on multiple overseas radio stations. The folk elements born along the Grand Canal contained in the opera unfold a map of Chinese music to overseas listeners. This time, the performance was delivered through live streaming in multiple countries.

Over the past 11 years, the performance of the opera has been continuously modified and improved with each rehearsal, aiming to show a more perfect stage to the audience. Since November, over 40 students from the conservatory have been selected as members of the choir, and they have been actively engaged in rehearsals for the performance, striving to present the captivating stories along the Grand Canal from a thousand years ago on stage with exquisite professional standards.
