The stories will cover a wide array of topics including the northern port metropolis’s progresses in pursuing high-quality development, the engagement of its common residents in its goals, eco-protection and “re-wilding” steps.

As China’s major port, Tianjin Port is fully justified in representing the port city’s efforts and achievements and giving full play to high technology with the aim to achieve intelligent, green development.

Located on the coast of the Bohai Sea, Tianjin Port is a pivotal shipping outlet for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

Tianjin Port has 192 berths, 128 of which can berth vessels weighing over 10,000 tons.

It has over 133 cargo routes, extending trade ties with more than 800 ports in over 200 countries and regions.

The port features the world's first smart and zero carbon terminal, which is operated by smart technology and is solar and wind-powered.

The unmanned terminal, which gives full play to high-tech solutions such as 5G, big data, blockchain, self-driving trucks, and AI-controlled robot workers, has increased operation efficiency by 15 percent and has saved 20 percent in energy costs for each container.

The building of automatic terminals is more cost-effective, costing one-third less than traditional terminals.

The port has 168 5G base stations to support intelligent, high-precision operations.
