Medics from Tianjin sent to Shanghai to help with the battle against COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control have returned home as positive results have been achieved.

A medical team of 1,518 personnel departed from Tianjin on April 3 to aid the battle against the COVID-19 outbreak in Shanghai.

During these 57 days, they took part in nucleic acid testing and frontline work at makeshift hospitals, intensive care wards, and hospital infection prevention and control centers.

They helped 20,374 COVID-19 patients, ranging from 1 to 99 in age.

As Shanghai’s epidemic prevention has made steady progress, it has closed off most of its makeshift hospitals and medical workers sent to help the city are leaving for home.
