Some 3,000 mu of rice have been harvested in Shangmatai town, Wuqing district recently.
Since the beginning of this year, the farm in Shangmatai town, Wuqing district has introduced dryland direct-planting technology, which, compared to traditional rice planting techniques, not only saves water and time, but also significantly reduces labor costs and increases farmers' incomes.
With technical support from Tianjin Agricultural Science Institute and Tianjin Fisheries Research Institute, crop planting and aquaculture levels have greatly improved. Through the ecological planting and breeding model of "growing rice with crabs and utilizing crabs for rice cultivation", a new path for increasing income has been opened up for farmers.
