A Sino-Japanese health forum on the elderly care industry was held at Xiamen University on June 16, local media reported.

Totsuka Shinya, chairman of an organization for Sino-Japanese cultural and business cooperation, presented a keynote speech at the forum.

International consensus has concluded that among the attendees China is encountering the largest and fastest-growing elderly population in the world while Japan boasts the longest life expectancy and most advanced elderly care industry.

Therefore, cooperation between the two countries in the elderly care industry will be very promising.

Chen Ming, a counselor at the organization for Sino-Japanese cultural and business cooperation, said in his closing speech for the forum that China has opened its elderly care market to the outside world.

According to Chen, they will continue promoting academic exchange and expanding cooperation with Japan in the elderly care industry.
