Meet Xiamen at Beijing horticultural expo

A special event entitled "Fujian Day", featuring the picturesque landscapes and rich culture of East China's Fujian province, was staged at the ongoing International Horticultural Expo in Beijing from June 13 to 15.

The three-day event is designed to showcase the province's natural environment, traditional culture, arts, and horticultural achievements through a series of activities. Traditional Fujian handicrafts such as puppet head carving, Shoushan stone carving, and cork patchworks were all featured during the event.

The Fujian Garden at the horticultural expocovers an area of 2,650 square meters and includes a 120-sq m indoor pavilion. Many natural elements of eastern Fujian's Xiamen, such as Xiamen's city tree and flower, and mangrove forest, can be found in the Fujian Garden as well as the expo's indoor botanical garden.

The Beijing horticultural expo, with its theme of "Live Green, Live Better", is the largest expo of its kind in the world and opened to the public on April 29 in Yanqing district. It will run until Oct 7.
