Red Roof Art Gallery launched its first exhibition at its inauguration ceremony in Huli district of Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, on June 22, local media reported.

According to Chen Jinhua, vice-chairman of Fujian Artists Association, the on-going exhibition is showcasing works by modern artists from Xiamen created in the last few years.

He said that the different styles, including Chinese painting, oil painting, lacquer painting and sculpture, can best represent these artists, who have made a great contribution to the development of the cultural industry in Xiamen.

The exhibition is expected to last untill Aug 12.
