Qixi cultural festival kicks off in Xiamen

The 2019 Qixi Cultural Festival was held at the Xiamen Museum in Fujian province on Aug 11, aiming to promote traditional Chinese culture. 

The Qixi Festival, or Chinese Valentine's Day, which falls on the seventh day of the seventh month of the Chinese lunar calendar, is a traditional Chinese festival in which women to pray for a happy marriage. 

Visitors experienced folk customs such as sewing and worshiping the goddess of Qixi Festival. In addition, poetry lovers recited romantic poems and played interactive poetry games related to the festival. Traditional craftsmen were also invited to showcase intangible cultural heritages including dough molding, lacquer art, sculpture, round fan making, and palm weaving.
