Xiamen in East China's Fujian province signed a total of 26 projects with a number of China's central State-owned enterprises, or SOEs, during a conference on central-local cooperation held in the coastal city on Aug 12.

On behalf of Xiamen municipal government, Zhuang Jiahan, the city's mayor, signed contracts with China National Nuclear Corporation, China National Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs Corporation, the State Development & Investment Corporation, China Communications Construction, China Aerospace Science & Industry Corporation and China National Pharmaceutical Group.

Xiamen's districts, its Torch Development Zone management committee and the Municipal Development and Reform Commission -- as well as Xiamen SOEs such as ITG Holding Group -- also signed contracts with central SOEs.

Hao Peng, Party secretary of the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, delivered a speech to the conference. He pointed out that Xiamen municipal Party committee and the government have been supportive to the reform and development of central SOEs in Xiamen. Hao added they had striven to create a sound development environment for central SOEs.

Hu Changsheng, Party secretary of Xiamen municipal Party committee, expressed his gratitude to the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission and central SOEs for their long-term support of Xiamen's economic and social development.

Hu said their hope was to work with central SOEs -- under the guidance and support of the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission -- to focus on high-quality development, maintain innovation-driven development and strengthen cooperation in capital, projects, technology and staff.

With a total investment of 107.9 billion yuan ($15.27 billion), the 26 projects cover advanced manufacturing and modern service industries, among other sectors.
