The 2019 Fujian Province Youth Sailing Competition kicked off in the coastal city of Xiamen on Aug 26, with the participation of 239 young sailors under the age of 18 from eight cities in Fujian.

A laser 4.7 race took place -- the first time the provincial event featured this class of boat, which is popular around the world.

Laser-class events first entered the Olympic Games in 1992, and now it has been introduced to more than 100 countries and regions.
