Policies for recruiting and attracting top Taiwan professionals and talent will be streamlined and optimized under a talent cooperation framework agreement, officials said.

The document was signed by five cities in southwest Fujian province – Xiamen, Zhangzhou, Quanzhou, Sanming and Longyan – in Xiamen on Sept 8.

The agreement also indicated that the five cities will leverage their regional advantages and jointly hold cross-Straits recruiting activities, to promote professional exchanges between Fujian and Taiwan.

Yang Guohao, deputy head of the Fujian Provincial Party Organization Department, pointed out that southwest Fujian cities must introduce more policies to encourage and support top Taiwan people to find jobs and start businesses in Fujian – as well as to continue to hold all kinds of talent exchanges and industrial match-making activities.

Besides cross-Straits focus, the accord also included strengthening recruitment among southwest Fujian cities, in a bid to build a demonstration area for top talent cooperation and development.

In September last year, the province proposed to vigorously promote the integrated development of southwest Fujian to further enhance the overall competitiveness of the region.
