Zhuang Jiahan, mayor of Xiamen in Fujian province, along with a delegation of heads of the city's government departments, visited London, Cambridge, Cardiff, Malmesbury and other places in the United Kingdom from Sept 16 to 19.

Zhuang and the delegation visited a group of world top 500 and leading enterprises such as Shell, Meggitt, Dyson and AstraZeneca, and explained Xiamen's industrial development, investment policies and business environment to the leaders of those enterprises.

The visit was aimed at strengthening industrial connections between Xiamen and the UK, and promoting economic and trade cooperation and exchanges between the two sides.

During his visit to the UK, Zhuang also met with Huw Thomas, the leader of Cardiff Council. Cardiff and Xiamen are sister cities.

They discussed plans for deepening bilateral exchanges and cooperation in economy, trade, education, culture and sports.
