A concert celebrating the friendship between Xiamen and Nice was staged in Xiamen in East China's Fujian province on Oct 22.

The concert, jointly hosted by the Foreign Affairs Office of Xiamen and the Nice government and performed by the Opera de Nice Choir and the Xiamen University Choir, attracted a number of distinguished guests from China and France.

In 1982, Xiamen University and the University of Nice established a comprehensive partnership, and in 2014, the two cities established sister-city relations. Over the years, Xiamen and Nice have maintained a successful partnership and carried out many exchanges in economics, trade, culture, tourism, education, and urban construction.

The concert, a tribute to the 55th anniversary of the China-France friendship, was meant to give Xiamen residents an opportunity to familiarize themselves with Nice and promote the internationalization of Xiamen.

A photo exhibition entitled "Xiamen-Nice friendly exchanges" will also be held at the Xiamen Municipal Library from Nov 1 to 11, showcasing the cooperative achievements of Xiamen and Nice.
