A government delegation led by Hu Changshen, Party secretary of Xiamen, paid a visit to Beijing to explore investment opportunities from Oct 25 to 27, Xiamen Daily reported on Oct 28.

According to Hu, Xiamen has attached great importance to attracting investment and promoting the city's high-quality development, which has led to great development opportunities for various types of enterprises, especially private enterprises.

Hu added that Xiamen will continually work to create a world-class business environment and offer more favorable policies for enterprises.

Xu Lejiang, deputy head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee and executive vice-chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, noted that Xiamen has long been at the forefront of China's reform and opening-up, and has paid particular attention to the development of private businesses. The Xiamen Special Economic Zone has created more business and development opportunities for private enterprises.

The government delegation also paid a visit to several central enterprises and well-known private firms, including the China Railway Investment Company, car rental company Ucar Inc, and internet search giant Baidu Inc. Hu met with 15 Beijing-based companies to teach them about the latest development trends in Xiamen and explore cooperation opportunities between Xiamen and Beijing.

Hu also offered a brief introduction of Xiamen's investment promotion measures and supportive policies for enterprises in the financial, educational, and health industries. He said that Xiamen would also welcome any company looking to invest in the city.
