Liu Qiying, head of Xiangzhou district in Zhuhai, declared plans to accelerate high-quality development in the district in 2024 during the fourth session of the 10th Zhuhai Municipal People's Congress.

Liu noted that the district's GDP grew by 5.1 percent in 2023, and the general public budget revenue increased by 6.9 percent.

By leveraging the advantages of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Xiangzhou will strive to attract high-end technology supply chain enterprises and establish itself as a hub for advanced equipment and components. Additionally, it will be a regional consumption center and enhance connectivity within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Xiangzhou is committed to advancing its manufacturing sector by supporting enterprises that use special and sophisticated technologies to produce novel and unique products, and fostering more enterprises above the designated size.

It will also be dedicated to creating a sci-tech innovation ecosystem, encouraging diverse forms of innovation incubators, and nurturing a flourishing industrial landscape. Simultaneously, it will enhance the tourism experience and elevate the district's appeal as a tourist destination.

Moreover, Xiangzhou will remain steadfast in its commitment to people-oriented development, prioritizing ecological conservation, promoting balanced and high-quality education, and addressing key issues such as employment, healthcare, elderly care, and childcare.
