On February 24, 2024 (Lantern Festival), the Spring Celebration in Honor of the Elderly was successfully held at Yangs' Great Ancestral Hall, Beishan Community, Nanping Town. Huafa MSCE specially invited foreign friends from France, Germany and Italy to enjoy delicious food and appreciate wonderful programs with more than 1,000 villagers and over 300 folks from Hong Kong, Macao and overseas who were born here and came back to visit their family and relatives.

On the day of the event, Zhuhai Xiangzhou Beishan Industry Co., Ltd., overseas fellows and business owners in Beishan jointly raised funds to distribute nutritious rice to the elderly present, wishing them health and happiness. Then, nearly 30 amazing programs were performed on the stage, including Cantonese Opera, singing and dancing by Hong Kong and Macao fellows to show the strong homesickness of overseas people, and lively Loong and Lion dance, presenting a visual cultural feast to the audience. 

As night fell, Mr. Yang Chengjie, chairman of Zhuhai Xiangzhou Beishan Industry Co., Ltd., raised his glass to thank the guests and sent his best wishes. Under rows of Chinese lanterns, thousands of people shared a reunion meal and chatted with each other. The scene was filled with laughter, joy and happiness.

It is reported that respecting and honoring the elderly is the excellent tradition of Beishan people. Ever since 2000, Beishan Community has held the spring celebration to honor the elderly for 20 consecutive years. This time, Huafa MSCE specially invited foreign friends in Zhuhai to participate in this event, providing them an opportunity to experience the customs of the Spring Festival in China, as well as the unique culture and excellent family traditions of Beishan village. The event enhanced exchanges between local and international cultures and promoted the influence of fine traditional Chinese culture on the international community. “I'm happy to see such a big clan eating together. I feel very honored to join them. ” said Mattia from Italy. In the future, Huafa MSCE will invite foreign friends to participate in more and better activities and events so as to enhance foreign friends’ understanding of traditional Chinese culture, and present compelling China stories to foreign friends in Zhuhai.
