International filmmakers and creator visited Zhuhai to carry out research as part of the Belt and Road Initiative documentary training program on June 6. In Beishan village, they enjoyed the traditional culture of Zhuhai and interacted with residents to find inspiration.
In Beishan village, participants indulged in Portuguese egg tarts, practiced calligraphy, shopped for cultural products, and engaged with local residents. "Visiting Beishan village was fascinating. I learned about their frequent music events, similar to those in my hometown of Tanzania. The convergence of music and arts here fascinates me," remarked Martin Mhando, chairman of the Zanzibar International Film Festival.
Having visited cities like Kunming, Xi'an, Shanghai, and Beijing, attendees found Zhuhai to be a rich blend of ancient traditions and innovation. Antonio Martino Cadierno Parodi, founder of a film production company in Spain, praised Beishan village for preserving traditional craftsmanship alongside modern living and working styles.
He Suliu, director of the China Documentary Research Center, expressed delight in Zhuhai's unique charm. The city's blend of history, modernity, advanced technology, and a laidback lifestyle serves as a model of harmonious fusion between traditional Chinese elements and modern living. The visit provided inspiration for creative endeavors and showcased China's warmth and love to the world.
