Gu Yuan Art Museum is scheduled to reopen on Aug 5, having undergone an expansion and renovations. The museum is the first municipal art museum in Zhuhai, named after Gu Yuan, a famous Chinese artist and art educator.

Since its opening in January 2008, the Gu Yuan Art Museum has presented a diverse range of art exhibitions and public education activities to the public.

In 2020, it was designated as a municipal government investment construction project for renovation and expansion, increasing the total construction area from the original 8,181 square meters to 20,005 square meters.

The exterior of the new museum features a combination of beige stone and black glass curtain walls, blending traditional elegance with modern elements. Its overall appearance is not only consistent with the original building but also harmonizes well with the surrounding environment, making the museum a shining cultural and artistic landmark in Zhuhai.

Upon opening, the new museum will showcase six exhibitions to the public, namely the "Gu Yuan's 105th Birthday - Exhibition of Gu Yuan's Works", the "Qi Baishi Art Masterpieces Exhibition with Immersive Light and Shadow", the "Gu Yuan and Friends Mutual Greeting Card Exhibition", the "Lingnan School of Painting Art Exhibition", the "Sculpture Art Invitation Exhibition", and the exhibition "Pearl of the Sea - Zhuhai Through the Eyes of Painters".
