During the National Day holiday, Zhuhai's Xiangzhou district experienced a significant surge in tourism, attracting 2.55 million visitors — a 49.3 percent increase over the previous year. Xiangzhou's main attractions, including the renowned Qinglyu Road and the newly opened Xianglu Bay City Balcony, were bustling with tourists.
To enhance the visitor experience, Xiangzhou implemented an innovative plan by deploying additional personnel along Qinglyu Road and Jingshan Road to ensure safety and provide comprehensive services. The Xianglu Bay City Balcony hosted a variety of cultural events, including traditional Chinese music performances and a food festival featuring over 70 culinary brands from the Pearl River Delta, Hong Kong and Macao. These activities offered a rich cultural feast for both locals and tourists.
Additionally, Xiangzhou organized a kite-flying event that captivated numerous visitors with its night-time illuminated kite displays. The Xianglu Bay City Balcony alone attracted 830,000 visitors, peaking at 150,000 in a single day. Hotels along Qinglyu Road reported an average occupancy rate of 96 percent.
The traditional Chinese medicine street at New Yuanming Palace hosted various activities, drawing approximately 163,000 visitors. The historic Beishan village in Nanping town, designated as a national pilot site for red tourism, welcomed over 180,000 visitors, with a significant proportion being youth and international tourists.
