On the afternoon of Dec 12, a dedicated matchmaking event for the "Tech Vice Presidents + Industry Professors" initiative was held at Jinan University's Zhuhai campus, fostering high-quality collaboration between universities and enterprises in Xiangzhou district.

This innovative mechanism is designed to bridge the gap between academia with industry. Tech VPs, who are university research experts, are assigned to companies to address key technical challenges.

On the other hand, industry professors and experienced professionals from local enterprises contribute practical knowledge to university classrooms. This reciprocal exchange is designed to translate research into real-world applications and ensure that talent development aligns with industry requirements.

The event emphasized concrete results. Four universities displayed cutting-edge research and facilities in fields like embodied AI and photonics. In dedicated sessions, 12 enterprises from Xiangzhou presented specific technical challenges, including laser detection and chip development, and received expert guidance from 20 attending experts.

Ten university-enterprise pairs identified clear collaboration pathways, moving beyond general agreements towards project implementation.

Xiangzhou, leading this initiative, has already arranged over 80 university-industry partnerships and nearly 30 detailed projects. The district intends to institutionalize these matchmaking events to better integrate education, technology, and talent to fuel high-quality industrial development.
