On Feb 11, officials of Yunnan University (YNU) in Kunming, the capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province, visited staff members, teachers and students who chose to stay at the campus during the Spring Festival holiday.

They included Lin Wenxun, Party secretary of YNU, Chen Huaxian, deputy Party secretary, and Duan Hongyun, vice-president of the university.

The delegation visited the north gate of the Chenggong campus, the security center, canteens, student apartments, the school hospital, construction sites at the campus and the duty room to offer holiday blessings to staff members and students.

Lin also learned about campus pandemic prevention and control measures, security and logistics during the winter vacation, expressing gratitude and support to front-line faculty.

When visiting students who chose to stay put, Lin gave them New Year gifts. He said that Spring Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday and that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, some students are temporarily unable to reunite with their families.

Lin added that the university is also a home for students and suggested that students arrange their vacation life reasonably, strengthening exercise and conducting health monitoring.
