Zhengzhou Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone focuses on five key points to boost economic growth

In recent years, Zhengzhou Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone has seen continuous improvement in commercial facilities. The development of new and unique consumption patterns has accelerated, leading to an increasing volume of foreign trade and a promising trend in consumption.

In 2025, the zone will develop both mass consumption and high-end consumption, with a focus on five key areas to enhance consumer market quality and expansion, aiming to exceed 23 billion yuan ($3.16 billion) in total annual retail sales of consumer goods.

Firstly, to expand high-quality consumption carriers, the zone will strengthen cooperation with renowned domestic and international enterprises, attracting more high-quality commercial businesses and unique consumer brands.

Secondly, efforts will concentrate on revitalizing consumption. The zone will promote consumption in areas such as automobiles, home appliances, home furnishings, kitchen and bathroom products, and enterprise equipment upgrades.

Thirdly, to develop new consumption formats, the zone will plan new consumption formats such as debut economy, silver economy and MICE economy.

Fourthly, efforts will support the development of cross-border e-commerce. The zone will accelerate the development of live-streaming e-commerce, cross-border e-commerce, and other online economic formats, organizing e-commerce seminars, cross-border e-commerce training, and exchange activities.

Lastly, the focus will be on creating distinctive youth-oriented commercial districts. Leveraging the 180,000 university students and young talents, the zone will construct a unique youth talent district surrounding Zhengzhou University, Henan University of Technology, and Information Engineering University.
