The Zhengzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, or ZETDZ, has deeply integrated itself into the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

It has also vigorously developed its digital economy, live-streaming economy and platform economy in recent years.

That has seen great results and last year the number of e-commerce enterprises in the zone topped 200, leading to a 36.2 percent and 20.3 percent year-on-year growth in e-commerce retail sales and automotive retail sales respectively.

In 2025, the ZETDZ will focus on developing the three central points of regional consumption to comprehensively support the construction of Zhengzhou as an international consumption center city.

Firstly, the emphasis will be on enhancing traditional consumption and creating immersive consumer experience centers. By prioritizing experiences and customer participation, the zone will move to develop innovative consumption models and expand the application of these experiences in urban spaces, cultural venues and distinctive districts.

Secondly, the focus will be on the diverse integration of e-commerce consumption, aiming to establish a digital services center. By leveraging the advantages of a 100,000-square-meter e-commerce live broadcasting center, 50 multi-channel network institutions and supply chain enterprises ,a clustered e-commerce industry will be formed.

Thirdly, the attention will be placed on establishing a green consumption center. The ZETDZ will focus on the advantageous consumption areas such as automobiles and home appliances, conducting extensive promotional activities to guide active participation in the trade-in programs of new energy vehicles and green appliances.
